Description
This New York State Department of Education approved curriculum allows you to take the exam to become a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) in New York State. The program includes 96 hours spent in the classroom and clinical lab, and 45 hours in a clinical facility. A pre-admission test and a 40-hour pre-requisite course, CNA Works, is required. Becoming a CNA is a rewarding career. Some people enter the field as CNAs and then follow a career path to LPN or RN. The program fee covers: books, tuition, CPR /AED certification, uniforms, shoes, watch, and NYS certification exam fees. Students are responsible for the cost of meeting the health documentation required by NYS Department of Health (health physical, tuberculosis skin test, immunizations, and/or antibody titers, etc.). All students must pass a pre-admission drug screen to enter the program. Students may need to pass a background check if the clinical rotation is scheduled in a facility where it is required.
