Keynote Speaker: Douglas Cronin (Vice-President and Principal) During his 15 year career in the employee benefits and retirement planning fields, Doug has worked as a direct liaison between clients and vendors. He effectively manages client relations including administration, funding and claim issues. He also creates employee communication materials and conducts employee meetings. Doug works with a variety of employee benefits including medical, dental, group life, long- term disability, short-term disability, NYS disability and retirement planning. Doug currently holds his life, accident and health license and his Series 6and 63 licenses. He is also currently a Downtown Syracuse YMCA board member, formerly overseeing the board as chair. Effective Leave Management is a crucial skill to maintain a successful workplace. With employee leave ranging from Workers’ Compensation, to Short-term Disability, to FMLA, to now Paid Family Leave, it can be challenging to stay on top of each process. This is especially true for smaller employers who experience less frequent employee leave. Leave management is important because when an employee feels supported by their employer during their leave, they are more likely to return to work and be productive. The best leave management process will include facilitating communication between the physician, employee, and employer.
