NYPA, the Rome Area Chamber of Commerce, Rome Main Streets Alliance, and the City of Rome, with sponsors, the Erie Canal National Heritage Fund and Stewart’s Shops, presents a Celebration of the Bicentennial of the Erie Canal.
A day full of music, entertainment, local art display, Utica Zoo’s Zoomobile, face painting, food, vendors, visits by the Lois McClure schooner and Governor Cleveland tug, and Fireworks!
The opening ceremony will begin at 12N until approximately 12:40pm and include a re-enactment of the dig by the Rome Historical Society
1-3pm – music by Classified
4-6pm – music by The Salt City Jazz Collective
7-9:30pm – music by Alex Torres and his Latin Orchestra
