2017 was an amazing year for the historic Erie Canal! Gov. Cuomo announced his $200 million initiative to complete the Empire State Trail with specific focus on the Erie Canal; Syracuse hosted the prestigious World Canals Conference; NY Bike Coalition held the first ever NYS Bike Summit; and so much more!! We invite you to join us for a fun and informative evening as we present and discuss the changes and improvements planned for the Erie Canal Corridor and how it impacts us as the merchants, organizations and communities vested in the preservation and prosperity of the awesome Erie Canal. Sessions are free and are open to the public. There will be speakers from the community and from local businesses and organizations. There will be open networking and discussion on how we can get more tourism on the canal and into our local businesses and communities, as well as discussions about what other canal communities are doing to increase tourism, and how the canal plays a role in their history and their prosperity. This is a great opportunity to learn more about what is happening along the canal, and to share your ideas on ways to drive more tourism to your town and your business.
