MVCC, Plumley Complex Auditorium

7pm, History of Rome Lecture Series (Mohawk Valley Community College (in partnership with The Rome Historical Society) presents: "The History of Griffiss" with Joe Kelly
Local Historian and television personality, Joe Kelly, will give a presentation on the history and contribution of Griffiss. Griffiss Air Force Base was a U.S. Air Force Base located in Rome NY. Griffiss was home to the units such as: 4727 Air Defense Group, 456th Fighter Interceptor Squadron, 416th Bomb Wing, as well as, many others. The base was realigned for civilian and non-combat purposes in 1995. It is now home to the Griffiss Business and Technology Park, which is vibrant for private and public enterprise in Rome NY, covering 3,500 acres.
