50 Children The Rescue Mission documentary

50 Children is a documentary about a little-known saga, the rescue of Jewish children from Vienna. Gilbert and Eleanor Kraus embarked on a risky and unlikely mission. They rescued 50 Jewish children from Vienna and brought them to the United States. Filmmaker Pressman, tracked down the surviving rescued children, who are now in their 70s and 80s. Nine appear in the film, though Pressman believes 20 to 25 may be alive. After the film we will SKYPE with Elizabeth Davis and Fritz Nozik two of the women from the film that lived in Utica with their aunt and uncle after their rescue. Free and open to the public.

Into the Arms of Strangers: Stories of the Kindertransport is a documentary film that tells the story of the Kindertransport, a rescue operation which saved the lives of over 10,000 Jewish children from Nazi Germany by transporting them via train to England, where they were adopted by British families. A Kindertransport Survivor - Karl Buchholz

Karl Buchholz, is a member of the Kindertransport Association, he was born in Hanover, Germany in May 1929. He will discuss his experiences living in Germany during the Nazi regime, his separation from his parents, the circumstances surrounding his exodus from Germany, his time in England during the war, reuniting with his parents after the war, and the impact these events had on his life. He is a passionate advocate for all refugees worldwide. He will be taking questions after the lecture.

Roosevelt. These refugees were housed at Fort Ontario in Oswego, New York, from August 1944 until February 1946.
