AIR
Passenger and freight service is available at Hancock International Airport in Syracuse, 45 minutes west from downtown Rome, and at Albany International Airport, 90 minutes to the east. Griffiss Airfield in Rome is maintained and available at Griffiss Business and Technology Park (a former Air Force Base), and features a heavy-duty airstrip that is one of the longest runways east of the Mississippi.
